The CADminer™ Architect can instantly report on a vast amount of data from one or several CAD
drawings.
Extract and report on precise information
from:
  • The CAD entities, such as the Block
    name, Layer name, Drawing name,
    Attributes Tag and Value, color,
    linetype, scale, etc.
  • Geometric properties of the CAD
    entities such as area, length.
  • Object quantities.
Reports are always current, allowing you to create information while the CAD drawings are being
worked on. The ability to link and import external information is beneficial as well. Whether it's in
tandem or in stand-alone with the CAD drawings, CADminer™ works with different file formats for
architectural firms for schedules, cost estimating, equipment tracting, etc. CADminer™ is ideal for
project management.
CADminer™ performs instantaneous quantity takeoffs from existing CAD drawings. This adds
significant value to firms.
Quantity takeoffs, that would normally take
weeks for an estimating department, can
be accomplished in literally minutes with
CADminer™. The data extracted from the
drawings can be transferred into Excel
spreadsheets and other file formats for
easy to view results. Civil engineering firms
are benefiting from CADminer™ in
numerous ways:
Highway / Traffic:
CADminer™ can do your cut & fill calculations, determine pavement quantities, and various other data
extractions. Both metric and English units can be used, so whether you are computing volumes,
areas, or lengths, CADminer™ will handle it. A quantity takeoff can be done on virtually any item
number in a contract or estimate that has a layer name, block name, drawing name or attributes.
Structural:
Concrete quantities, bolts, nuts, rebar, structural steel, and many other components of structural
engineering materials can be extracted from your existing CAD drawings. Items can be grouped by
length, volume, diameter and type for viewing aesthetics. Re-use your templates for future drawings.
Environmental:
Drawings containing pipe lengths, elbows, tees & drainage (catch basins & manholes) can be
extracted and grouped according to various sizes or item numbers in Excel or Access. Wastewater
treatment plants, mechanical materials, water treatment plants, pumps, pump-stations & drainage
schedules are all extractable materials through CADminer™.
Geotechnical:
Earthwork quantities, boring, pile information, and foundation data can easily be extracted from
users' drawings.
CADminer™ is a valuable tool for designers, general contractors, construction managers and trade
contractors throughout a project cycle.
Estimates and Takeoffs:
There is little room for error during project estimates. Use CADminer™ for detailed and efficient
estimating and quantity takeoffs. Extract divisions of item numbers or individual item numbers from
CAD drawings. After the short data-mining process has taken place, CADminer can group item
numbers into those that belong to a certain subcontractor. Also use CADminer™ for project control
including procurement.
Accurately breakdown your project
requirements:
  • Site preparation
  • Excavation
  • Concrete
  • Structural steel
  • HVAC
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
Integration and Information Management:
CADminer's™ relational database allows contractors to readily exchange information from their
various components. Contractors can integrate design, estimating, accounting, project management
and scheduling, and provide real-time data that is constantly updated from both local and remote
sources. Finally, the CADminer™ information saved over time becomes an asset for future
accounting and estimating.
CADminer™ is an excellent solution for
facilities management. It can search and
report on numerous entities in very little
time, allowing for highly sophisticated
space analysis. CADminer™ can report
on hundreds of drawings if necessary.
Managers have used CADminer™ to
extract room areas and room numbers
then linked outside information to each
unique room number via CADminer's™
relational database.
This feature has allowed for vast and integrated reporting, combining internal CAD analysis with
external business data. Your integrated reports represent real-time information - constantly
changing to maximize efficiency.

CADminer™ has powerful Search and Report routines. Use it to create highly detailed search
criteria and extend the search across different rooms, floors, buildings, or even across multiple
databases. You can then link objects and related data, and their geometric properties. For example,
the components of an office workstation such as panels, work surfaces, chairs, etc., can all be
linked together in a report. Finally, use the CADminer™ plug-ins to create new drawings, visualizing
and comparing the wealth of information right on the drawings.
Development and Project Cost Analysis:
CADminer™ performs a complete project cost analysis for any residential or commercial income
property. Produce professional reports that illustrate the viability of a proposed project. Describe
any income-producing project in tremendous detail: land, hard and soft costs, financing, leasing,
operation, resale, etc.
Extract all you CAD data:
  • Measure floor plans
  • Calculate square footage/perimeters
  • Assist in appraisals
  • Multi-purpose information management
  • Interior design
  • Subcontractor work analysis
  • Working with specs
Visualization / Automation:
Variations of information can be illustrated succinctly by the CADminer™ plug-ins. For example, a
buyer of a multi-floor commercial building will use CADminer™ to extract all the needed information
from each floor of the building. The buyer can now attach his new tenants' information (names,
terms of lease, space, etc.) to the extracted CAD data and visualize this information. The new
drawings can be annotated with all the tenants' information or visually altered using different
techniques to display information.
The buyer may also use CADminer™ as a means of maintaining this information on a periodical
basis. Now, when information about a tenant changes - perhaps the tenant's office planning -
the visualized report can change also. This illustrates but one of the countless scenarios and
advantages of CADminer™ in this competitive industry.
